Just As You Are, So You Are Led

Sheikh Eşref Efendi, Berlin  17.08.2012
  • Ufuk Efendi had a conversation with a woman about Hitler and how God can allow people to commit such atrocities.

    Bismillahirrahmanirrahim

Who enabled Hitler to gain power? Was it Allah or did people elect him? Which people elected him? - The German people. It is sad but true. Hitler did not fall from heaven.

Who elected Hitler? Allah or the people?

When people experience good things, they say it is due to them. But when bad things happen, they blame Allah for that. They don't feel responsible for their own bad deeds. The reason for this is that people don't want to take responsibility. They have electricity and things which make life more comfortable. They are using it, but do they ever think about where it is coming from? Are they thankful that Allah made their lives more comfortable? - No, they think it comes from themselves. And they start worshipping electricity.

    What about Hitler?

“Just as you are, so you are led”, Allah says.

The one who eats, has to pay (in a restaurant). Not the one who is standing outside the window watching the people eating. Who pays the bill? In which way is the person who watches involved with that bill?

Allah is watching. Allah knows about everything, sees and watches it. But the one who acts is you. Where was your mind when you elected Hitler? When you are unable to decide what is good or bad, Allah is not the person responsible for that.

Has Hitler written his book before or after his election? Before or after the takeover? - Therewith we want to show how foolish the people were as they knew about the book before the takeover. Did the people read the book? ("Mein Kampf"). The book was like a holy book for the people.

  • We can talk about it as everything belongs to Allah but the truth has to be revealed. What has Allah got to do with it? - Religion has got nothing to do with it. Fanaticism does not belong to religion but to people. Religion is the way to God that's why it cannot be fanatical.

When there were the crusades, who elected the pope? Who ordered the crusades? Was it Allah who elected that pope? - No, it were the cardinals.

We have to be objective. It is impossible to be neutral but we have to be fair. We can't be objective as feelings are involved. We always take sides although we are not aware about it. But when talking about the truth, we are fair. The truth is above anything and to be fair is really difficult.

“Just as you are, so you are led”, Allah says.

Hitler did not know what he was doing. Otherwise he would have just stopped. And there were powers which supported him like the Vatican. But this was a secular power, not a heavenly one. Otherwise they would have known that he was a devil and they would never have supported him.

Someone who is close to Allah, can see with His eyes, every single cell, he is looking with Allah's eyes. Allah knows about every cell of every human being. And he knows about anything we don't know. And a real servant sees with His light and knows directly who is standing in front of him.

If this pope had been a blessed one, he would have known about Hitler who was a tyrant.

Allah says that the only thing He forbade Himself was to be a tyrant.

People ask what about the people who suffered because of only one man and his bad deeds? – In order that we can see that only one person is able to kill one nation. But one person has also the power to rescue a nation. And Allah will send one person who is able to rescue the whole world, inshaAllah.

  • Those people who were killed by a psychopath were warned before. But they did not leave because they wanted to save their possession. People should not put down roots. The Prophet (saw) got the heavenly order to leave Mecca as he (saw) was pursued. And so he (saw) left. And when there was the Nazi period the people were warned too. But they decided to stay because of their possessions. They knew about the danger but stayed and lost everything they had.

The prophets also had to leave as they were pursued. They were able to perform miracles but as they should be a role model for the people, they did not show miracles but also left the danger area.

Allah says: “I have the hearts in My hand and I guide the one who I want to guide.”

Things happen for people to learn from them. This world is a school. We need pro and contra, so that we learn. Without sickness we don't know what it means to be healthy. And people, just as Hitler, are sick. Everything that is bad, is sick. And we have to know the opposite so that we understand the whole thing. The sick people teach us something as well.

Suffering only remains for 3 days and Allah will take that away from us. 1:40. 40 ways of sufferings mean nothing in comparison to the one time of happiness. Like someone who was in prison for ten years. If he is allowed to see sunlight or to have his freedom for only one day, the ten years will be forgotten. Because felicity is much stronger.

Allah is with the victims. He will compensate the victims in the hereafter. But as we don't know about the hereafter we can't understand why people have to suffer. He will let them forget their suffering in eternity.

Sheikh Mehmet Efendi said about suffering people: “At the moment of death Allah takes the soul like a breath of wind and what remains is the suffering body.”

But that is an illusion. In a movie people are also tortured, but it is just a movie. The actor acts but it is an illusion nevertheless.

  • Trust Allah as He said: “I will judge.”

Everyone will be judged fairly. No one will remain unpunished. He will let justice prevail. Allah promises the people who suffer on earth that they will enter paradise 500 years before the others. But we can't imagine that as we don't know about paradise. But what Allah promises us is the paradise that is eternity. If we knew about that, we would ask Allah to send us back to earth so that we can suffer and enter paradise 500 years earlier.

Working underground is hard. There is no light. And someone else works on the Seychelles where it is nice. Everyone does the work which provides them with the best payment. And by working underground, you earn a lot. As a dustman you earn a lot although it is not a well respected job. It is destiny at which place you were born. People can't do anything about it. For example the people in Africa: It is one person’s destiny to live in the desert and another person’s destiny to live in Switzerland. At first sight it seems to be unfair. But in the hereafter Allah will reward the one living in the desert more than the one who had everything in Switzerland. But so that the picture is completed, dustmen and the people who work underground are needed. In the end everybody will be rewarded.

The Prophet Mohammed (saw) has shown us the end times, today, to his fellowship. It has already been "filmed" before. If you believe in it, you will also see it. Have patience. When my Grandsheikh tells me something, he has to show it to me one day so that I am convinced then.

    Elhamdulillah ve shükrillah

Be blessed. May Allah let us be together with the people who are with Him. With pure people. You will be counted as belonging to be one of the people you are with. The one who is with a thief will also be a thief one day. But the one who is with a good one will also be a good person one day. Even though your character won't change, your habits will be changed as people are influenced by things they see. The one who is with a good person, a wise man, someone with knowledge, will also be influenced by him.

  • The one who is with a friend of God, will also be counted as a friend of God. If you are with something beautiful, the ugly will disappear as beauty has much more power and the ugly will be lost in the beauty.

That's why it is said: “Choose your friends well!”

The Prophet Muhammed (saw) said: "I did not come to destroy your character but to make your character perfect.”

The character is diverse and the Prophet (saw) came to show the beauty of the character. So that the ugly things in a character will disappear in the beauty.

If you plunge into an ocean, you won't dissolve but disappear.
